Beekeeping Classes

Beginner Class

Saturday March 9th, 2024 at Hansen's Honey Farm 3279 Highway 8 East, Rhinelander, WI. 54501

Registration begins at 9am. Class 9:30am-2:00pm

You will learn about

  • Equipment 
  • Hive set-up and location
  • testing for mites and treatment
  • Feeding: bee nutrition and health
  • Plants and landscaping to benefit bees
  • When to "super up" and honey harvesting
  • Panel discussion with members sharing their first time experience
  • The cost of becoming a beekeeper
  • Winterizing your bees
  • and much more

Cost is $40 single or $50 per family

Includes class materials, lunch, and a 1 year membership to the Oneida County Beekeepers Association

Advanced Class

Field Day at Hansen's Honey Farm date 

Saturday June 8th, 2024

9am-12pm

Bring your bee suit or protective clothing as we will be opening active hives

We will be going into active hives to:

  • Look for the queen
  • Look at brood patterns
  • Demonstrate how to split hives
  • Test for mites

Cost is $10 single/family includes a 1 year membership to the Oneida County Beekeepers Association
